School Outreach

Alice Fitzgerald and Micheál Marrinan, both acknowledged masters of traditional singing, visited local schools for several for several months in 2006. Their goal was to share local songs with students and encourage the development of a youth group and individual singing.
Cúl na Sméar Cúl na Sméar Garranbane
The initial sessions were for twelve weeks. Schools visited were all National Schools in the area. These were Cúl na Sméar, Kilbrien, Garronbane and Modeligo. Local songs in both English and Irish were shared. The kids were great - enthusiastic and happy to join right in.
